Social media is changing the manufacturing industry in so many ways. You need to familiarize yourself with the ideal times to post if you want to utilize social media at its full capacity and get the most engagement on your posts.

There is no guaranteed perfect time to post on social media, but several statistics show the ideal times to get the best engagement from your audience. It’s never wrong to trust existing statistics. What works for others can work for your business too. Or you can use different data to experiment and see what’s the best schedule for you.

The Ideal Times to Post

We compiled data from several trusted social media and marketing experts in the digital industry. Here are the ideal posting schedules they recommend for the different social media channels.

When to post: Facebook

According to Hootsuite, a social media management platform, the best time to post on Facebook on weekdays is between 12 NN – 3 PM. During the weekend, published posts between 12 NN and 1 PM get the most engagement.

Hubspot, an inbound marketing and sales platform say the best times to post on Facebook are Wednesdays at 3 PM and Thursdays and Fridays between 1 PM – 4 PM. For the weekends, the prime time is between 12 NN – 1 PM. Coschedule, a marketing calendar tool, also agrees with this posting schedule.

Based on this data, the ideal time to post on Facebook to get the most engagement is during the afternoon between 12 NN – 4 PM and later in the week – Wednesday to Sunday.

When to post: Twitter

According to Hubspot, B2B (business-to-business) performs better during business hours. Tweets during weekdays between 12 NN – 3 PM show a stronger performance.

According to a study by Buffer, another social media management platform, the most popular times to tweet in the US are – 8 AM – 9 AM Pacific time and 12 NN – 1 PM Mountain, Central, and Eastern time.

Coschedule says the workweek is best. You can try tweeting from Monday–Friday at 12 NN – 3 PM and 5 PM.

Also, you can use Twitter Analytics to track your data and see what schedule works best for your account.

When to post: LinkedIn

According to LinkedIn’s data, the best times to post in LinkedIn are — 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM, 12 NN and between 5 PM-6 PM on the middle of the week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and between 10 AM – 11 AM on Tuesdays.

Based on LinkedIn’s data, it’s ideal to schedule posts when your target audience is not that busy — either early in the morning before heavy work starts, during lunchtime or early in the evening when things start to quiet down. This is even more true for B2B marketers since their target audience includes busy business people and professionals.

When to post: Google+

Most Google+ users are also working professionals. To get the most engagement, it is ideal to schedule your posts when your audience is most likely to be online.

According to Hubspot, Google+ users are most active during the start of a workday, from 9 AM -11 AM, especially on Wednesdays. Some marketers also said they get good engagement during lunchtime between 12 NN – 1 PM.

When it comes to social media marketing or any marketing at that, it’s always best to gather and utilize your own data. Different social media channels have tons of data available that you can use to understand your own audience (Facebook Analytics, Twitter Analytics, Timing+, LinkedIn Analytics, etc). Try testing the different times suggested by social media experts then see which schedule works for you.
