Sitemap Creation & Submission to Google Console
What is Google Console?
Google Console provides search console tools and reports to help you measure your site’s Search traffic and performance, fix issues, and make your site shine in Google Search results. It also optimizes your content, alerts you on issues to fix your site, and helps you understand how Google Search sees your pages.
What is a Sitemap?
A Sitemap is a file that provides information about the pages and files on your site, and their relationships. It works as a blueprint for your website, and also helps search engines find, crawl, and index all of your website’s content.
Why is it important?
A Sitemap tells search engines, like Google, which pages and files you think are important in your site, and also provides valuable information about them. Sitemaps are particularly important when it comes down to these things:
- Your site is really large
- Your site has a large archive of pages that are not linked well or at all
- Your site is new and has few external links
- Your site has a lot of rich media content
